WHEN NO HOPE AND FEAR PREVAILS JUST PRAY (Part-1)

WHEN NO HOPE & FEAR PREVAILS JUST PRAY (Part-1)

‘…We will stand in your presence…cry out to you…and you will hear us and save us.’ 2 Chronicles 20:9

Today’s Devotion

A parishioner asked his pastor, ‘Do you ever feel down and no hope to see?’ ‘Sure,’ he responded. ‘What do you do about it?’ the parishioner said. ‘I get up again. Being down and no hope isn’t my problem—staying down and stay hopless is. I’m either up, or I’m getting up. I’ve learned not to park in between.’ Although feeling down is universal, sociologists warn us to guard against its two most common causes: fear and fatigue. Let’s look at them:

Fear: When Edomite armies marched against Israel’s king, fear gripped him and his nation. Feeling powerless, they feared losing their God-given land and possessions. If the stress of the last few years has left you feeling fearful, do what Israel’s king did. He turned to God and prayed:

‘Whenever we are faced with any calamity…we can…stand in your presence…We can cry out to you…and you will hear us and rescue us’ (v. 9 NLT). Don’t let fear cause you to abandon your hope and your vision. Instead, stand in God’s presence, cry out to Him, and watch Him rescue you.

Throughout the Old Testament, God reminded Israel of His track record of goodness. He wanted them to remember it and take courage. But sometimes fear would cloud their memory and they’d begin to doubt. Sound familiar? So He told them, ‘Do not be…discouraged…the battle is not yours, but [mine]’ (v. 15 NIV). In other words, ‘You don’t have to defeat the foe, that’s My job. I’m in charge; trust Me to work it out.’ So remember Who’s in control of your circumstances today. Stand in His presence, believe His promise!

 Parallel verses: 2 Samuel 14:21 - 17:13, Luke 7:36-50, Psalm 118:19-29 , Proverbs 18:10-12

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father thank you for you are always there at our side watching us even in our difficult times you are there to help and support us. Lord thank you for your faithfulness as you have said that you will not leave us or forsake us. Lord thank you for all the goodness and experience that I had with you. Your hand is not too short that you can’t reach me nor your ear is not dull that you can’t hear me because of our sins we are separated from you temporarily but when we come back to you and ask forgiveness Lord you rescue us. Lord I trust You that whatever happens to me against my enemy you will uphold me with your mighty hands and rescue me that my life will be preserved for your glory, In Jesus Name. Amen!

Prayer for Salvation

Lord I admit I am a sinner I repent of all my sins and I receive you into my heart as my personal Lord and Savior Amen. If you mean that prayer from the bottom of your heart you are now saved. It is God’s promise in John 3:16 that if you trust His Son Jesus you will not perish or die but you will have Eternal Life. Welcome to the family of God. UNITED IN PRAYER FELLOWSHIP (Part-1)

Sunday, 12  Jan. 2014

Prayer as a Way of Life with Sis. Cristy and Bro. Rolly Custodio

UNITED IN PRAYER FELLOWSHIP (Part-1)

‘The believers met together in the Temple every day in prayer and breaking of the bread…’ Acts 2:46

Today’s Devotion

It’s estimated that there are over half billion practicing Christians in the world. But the church wouldn’t even exist today if it hadn’t been for a small group of disciples who were sold on Christ to pray. The things of God were not a part-time interest or a convenience-based commitment to those early Christians but their highest priority is to pray. If you want to be serious about God, stop and reflect to pray on what they took seriously. They took church seriously. ‘The believers met together in the Temple every day in prayer and breaking of the bread.

’ Question: Are you a hit-and-miss churchgoer? Do you get upset if the service exceeds an hour or the minister takes an extra ten minutes? Is once-a-week your limit? Not for these New Testament Christians! So what drew them? The temple’s orchestra and choir? Cutting-edge media or youth programmes? Did they have more time and less responsibility than we have? No, everything about their life was harder, took longer, and was less convenient and more on prayer. Yet their encounter with Jesus so transformed their priorities that, ‘Every day they continued to meet…for prayer and breaking of the bread..’ (v. 46 NIV). They hungered to gather in the presence of the Lord, believing His promise,

‘Where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them’ (Matthew 18:20 NLT).

Taking God seriously requires regular involvement with other Christians in prayer fellowship, experiencing this unique aspect of His presence, hearing His Word together, and encouraging one another (Hebrews 10:25). You need that special dimension of prayer fellowship with God that happens only when His family gathers together with Him in united prayer.

Parallel Verses: Galatians 5:22, Luke 19:11-26, Psalm 36:5-9 , Hebrews 10:19-23

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father thank you for teaching us to have prayer fellowship with our brethren and with you which helps me to grow my faith and my walk to you Lord. Lord I worship you for who you are in my life. Lord give me a contrite heart or loving heart to always act on prayer every time there is a request and plans to execute so that you will blessed all aspects of our life for your glory. In Jesus Name, Amen!

Prayer for Salvation

Lord I admit I am a sinner I repent of all my sins and I receive you into my heart as my personal Lord and Savior Amen. If you mean that prayer above from the bottom of your heart you are now saved. It is God’s Word that He promise in John 3:16 that if you trust His Son Jesus you will not perish or die but you will have Eternal Life. Welcome to the family of God. Speak Out A Prayer of Deliverance

Prayer as a Way of Life  with Sis. Cristy and Bro. Rolly Custodio

Speak Out a Prayer of Deliverance
‘…[The] curse does not come to rest.’ Proverbs 26:2 NIV

Today’s Devotion

Author Stormie Omartian grew up with a mother who told her she was worthless. She locked Stormie in a closet because she couldn’t ‘stand to see her daughter’s face’!

Stormie writes: ‘I was raised by a mentally ill mother…and…her behaviour left me with guilt, hopelessness, helplessness and deep emotional pain. By the time I was a young woman I was still locked in – only the boundaries were emotional not physical – a deep, ever-present pain which expressed itself through self-destruction and paralysing fear.

Years later [with help from a Christian counsellor] I learned that unforgiveness as deeply rooted as mine…must be unravelled one layer at a time. One day I felt led to pray, “Lord, give me a heart like Yours for my mother.” Immediately I had a vision of her as a beautiful, fun-loving, gifted woman with no resemblance to the person I knew…I was seeing her the way God made her to be, not the way she’d become.

What an amazing revelation! In an instant I put together the pieces of her past – her mother’s tragic death…the suicide of her beloved uncle and foster father, her feelings of abandonment, guilt, bitterness and unforgiveness…Touching the heart of God brought such forgiveness that when she died…I had no bad feelings. In fact, the more I forgave her the more God brought to mind good memories…People are often the way they are because of how life shaped them, and only God knows their history. To enjoy everything God has for you, pray and speak out prayer of deliverance or release and let go of the past.’ Only then can you move on.

Parallel verses: Lev 15-17, Matt 6:1-8, Ps 46, Pr 1:32-33

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father thank you for you Son Jesus our Lord for He is our model in prayer and thank you for teaching us to be personal in our way of asking with you. Strengthens me Lord that every details of my request should be directly address to you and should ask from the bottom of my heart so that I may enjoy seeing your miracles power and so that I will be enjoying meeting with you Lord because I believe that you have the best plan for my life and how you will answer my prayer for your glory. In Jesus Name, Amen!

LORD, TEACH ME TO PRAY (Part-4)

Prayer as a Way of Life with Sis. Cristy and  Bro. Rolly Custodio

LORD, TEACH ME TO PRAY (Part-4)

‘He fashions their hearts individually...’ PSALM 33:15

Today’s Devotion
Your prayer style should be consistent with the way God designed you. Yes, you can learn from people who are more experienced in prayer than you are, but you need to be careful not to make them your standard, or become a ‘clone’. It’s wrong to force yourself to do what others do, if you are not comfortable with it in your spirit. Don’t try to keep up with someone else, or copy their prayer style. And don’t feel compelled to work every prayer principle you have ever learned, every time you pray.
Most of us are afraid not to be like everyone else. We are more comfortable following specified rules than daring to follow the leading of God’s Spirit. When we follow man-made rules, we please people. But when we step out in faith and follow God’s Spirit, we please Him. You don’t need to feel pressured to pray a certain way, or for a certain length of time, or to focus on specific things because other people are doing so. ‘Untie the boat from the dock,’ so to speak, and let the tide of God’s Spirit take you wherever He wills.
When you are in control, you know what will happen next. But when you let God’s Spirit take the lead, you are in for a lot of surprises in life. Wonderful surprises! You need to be determined to be yourself, and refuse to spend your life feeling guilty because you’re not like somebody else. The Bible says, ‘He fashions their hearts individually.’ So when it comes to prayer, the word for you today is, ‘Be yourself’.
Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father thank you for giving us freedom to exercise our prayer life. Lord enable me to pray on the way that you want me to do and not on the basis of man’s will. Help me Lord to pray always in Spirit and not according to my strength so that I will not be pressure so that I have confident that your answer is certain and within your will for your glory. In Jesus Name, Amen!

Prayer for Salvation

Lord I admit I am a sinner I repent of all my sins and I receive you into my heart as my personal Lord and Savior Amen. If you mean that prayer above from the bottom of your heart you are now saved. LORD TEACH ME TO PRAY (PART-3)

Prayer as a Way of Life  with Sis. Cristy and Bro. Rolly Custodio

LORD TEACH ME TO PRAY (PART-3)

‘Evening [and] morning…he hears my voice.’ PSALM 55:17

Today’s Devotion
God is far too creative to insist that every person interacts with Him in exactly the same way. He designed each of us differently. There are prayer principles that apply to all of us, but God leads each of us as individuals. We are all at different places in our walk with Him, we are all at different levels of spiritual maturity, we all have different types of experiences in prayer. Yes, we need to learn the fundamentals of prayer. But then we need to move beyond intellectual knowledge about how to pray, and take those principles to the Lord and say: ‘Teach me to apply this to my life, in my situation, to my heart. Show me how this idea is supposed to work for me. God, I’m depending on You to teach me to pray, to make me effective in prayer, to make my relationship with You through prayer the richest, most rewarding aspect of my life.
’ When you say, ‘Lord, teach me to pray,’ you’re asking Him to teach you to pray in a distinctly personal way, and to enable your prayers to be easy, natural expressions of who you are. You need to go before God just the way you are, and give Him the pleasure of enjoying the company of the ‘original’ that He made you to be. You need to approach Him with your own strengths, weaknesses, uniqueness and everything else that so wonderfully distinguishes you from everyone else. God enjoys meeting you where you are, developing a personal relationship with you, and helping you grow to become everything He wants you to be.

LORD TEACH ME TO PRAY (PART-2)

Prayer as a Way of Life with Sis. Cristy and Bro. Rolly Custodio

LORD TEACH ME TO PRAY (PART-2)

‘…Jesus…spent the night praying…’ LUKE 6:12

Today’s Wisdom
One of the dangers of being involved in God’s work is that you can go for weeks, or even months, without praying. In a survey of a thousand pastors, half acknowledged that they often went for long periods without taking time to pray. They didn’t have a personal prayer life beyond their function in church. Amazingly, they had preached entire sermons on the topic, yet they themselves didn’t practice it. Can you relate? Jesus arose before dawn and spent hours in prayer. He even prayed all night. And it showed. His incredible success flowed out of the rich relationship He had with His Father. He made deposits every morning so that He could make withdrawals all day long.
One Bible teacher writes: ‘I have gone from laboring and striving to pray for five minutes every few days to enjoying—and actually personally needing and wanting—beginning my day with prayer, then to praying throughout the day as things come to my heart, and finally ending my day communicating with the Lord as I fall asleep.
I have moved from a sporadic, irregular prayer life to regular times of prayer that are disciplined without being legalistic. Where I once thought I was fulfilling an obligation to God by praying, I now realize that I absolutely cannot survive a day and be satisfied…if I do not pray. I realize that prayer is a great privilege, not a duty. I no longer approach God in fear, wondering if He will really hear me and send an answer to my prayers. I now approach Him boldly, as His Word teaches me to do, and with great expectation.’
Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father thank you for your Word today and for your teachings us to prioritize our prayer life more than the ministry. Lord empowers me to pray regularly every lost souls and the whole Church and not busy with every task without prayer. Lord remind me that before I move every morning I will begin with prayer that I may bless you Lord and you’ll be the center of our life’s mission for your glory. In Jesus Name, Amen!

Prayer for Salvation

LORD TEACH ME TO PRAY (PART-1)

Prayer as a Way of Life with Sis. Cristy and Bro. Rolly Custodio

LORD TEACH ME TO PRAY (PART-1)

‘…Lord, teach us to pray…’ Luke 11:1

Today’s Devotion

In his book, ‘With Christ in the School of Prayer’, Andrew Murray writes: ‘None can teach like Jesus…therefore we call on Him, “Lord, teach us to pray.” A pupil needs a teacher who knows his work, who has the gift of teaching, who in patience and love will descend to the pupil’s needs. Blest be God! Jesus is all this and much more…Jesus loves to teach us how to pray.’ If you:
a) are not sure God is really listening when you talk to Him;
b) don’t understand why some prayers seem to go unanswered;
c) wonder if you are praying ‘right’ or generally feel frustrated in prayer;
d) are eager to know what to do to feel more connected with God and gain confidence that your prayers really do make a difference, say, ‘Lord, teach me to pray.
’ Although there are principles of prayer that apply to everyone, God will lead each of us individually. He wants to take you just the way you are, and help you discover your own rhythm of prayer; to develop a style of prayer that maximizes your relationship with Him.
He wants prayer to be an easy, natural, life-giving way of communicating as you share your heart with Him and allow Him to share His heart with you. Prayer is so simple; it’s nothing more than talking to God and taking time to listen to what He has to say to you. God has a personalized prayer plan for you, a way for you to communicate most effectively with Him. So begin by saying, ‘Lord, teach me to pray.’

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father thank you for remind us that we have to connect with you and ask what we need to pray for our church, brethren, family, friend and others. Lord we trust you that you will answer our prayer according to your perfect timing and agenda. Lord teaches us to be humble always and trust you all the time as we serve you so that we can continue to serve the ministry that you entrusted us for your glory.  In Jesus Name, Amen!

Prayer for Salvation

Lord I admit I am a sinner I repent of all my sins and I receive you into my heart as my personal Lord and Savior Amen. If you mean that prayer above from the bottom of your heart you are now saved. Triple A Prayer

Prayer as a Way of Life with Sis. Cristy and Bro. Rolly Custodio

Triple A Prayer

'At that time men began to call on the name of the Lord.' Genesis 4:26

Today’s Wisdom

The first mention of prayer in the Bible is: 'At that time men began to call on the name of the Lord.' So, how often do you 'call on the name of the Lord'? Only when you're in trouble? Or when you're in church? Occasionally? Never? You say, 'But I don't know how to pray.' Try a triple-A prayer:

1) Adore. You build intimacy in a relationship by focusing on the other person. So change your prayer pattern; get up tomorrow morning and ask, 'Lord, is there anything I can do for You today?'

2) Ask. Most of the time God's will is already revealed in His Word, so read it! When you know you are praying scripturally-you pray with confidence. And use your faith. God's greatest desire is to be believed-in spite of the circumstances, your feelings, and all opinions to the contrary. Jesus said, 'Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours' (Mark 11:24 NIV).

3) Accept. God told the prophet Habakkuk, 'The vision is yet for an appointed time... Though it tarries, wait for it' (Habakkuk 2:3 NKJV). God understands your sense of urgency, but He always works in your best interests. His willingness to answer your prayer is never in question when you pray according to His will (1John 5:14).

But His answer is determined by the condition of your heart and your readiness to handle what He wants to give you. So instead of pestering Him like a child, grow up; say, 'Lord, You promised it, I believe it, and that settles it!'

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father thank you for reminding us to pray always. Even we can’t see the answer yet in our prayer request but You oh Lord has promised in your Word that If we trust and believe in you We will see miracles. Lord empowers me to make prayer to be my habit and become my character so that I can pray always and intercede for others to meet their needs for your glory. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Prayer for Salvation

Lord I admit I am a sinner I repent of all my sins and I receive you into my heart as my personal Lord and Savior Amen. If you mean that prayer above from the bottom of your heart you are now saved. Try Fasting and Prayer

Prayer as a Way of Life with Sis. Cristy and Bro. Rolly Custodio

Try Fasting and Prayer

'We fasted and entreated...God.' Ezra 8:23

Today’s Devotion

Ezra's assignment was rebuilding the temple in Jerusalem, and there were moments when it felt overwhelming. So here's what he did: 'We fasted and entreated our God for this, and He answered our prayer.' When you are willing to go without food and take the time to seek God with all your heart, He will respond to you. So, when should you fast? Let's observe three things Ezra fasted and prayed for:

1) '...To seek from Him the right way for us...' (v. 21 NKJV). Without God's guidance you are left to the mercy of your own best thinking, and that can get you into trouble you may not get out of in a hurry. God doesn't want you travelling blindly into the future, hoping for the best. His promise to you is, 'Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come' (Jeremiah 33:3 NLT).

2) '...and [for] our little ones...' (Ezra 8:21 NKJV). Because God Himself is a father, this much is sure: when you petition Him on behalf of your children He gets involved in their lives! Samuel was molded into one of Israel's greatest prophets by the prayers of a godly mother called Hannah.

3) '...and all our possessions' (v. 21 NKJV). If unemployment, the home foreclosure rate, and the rollercoaster we call the stock market are anything to go by, you'd be wise to consult God before you make any financial decision. 'Has God promised to bless me financially?' you ask. Yes. But only when your heart is in harmony with His will and your desire is to do what pleases Him.

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father thank you for your Word today. Lord I trust you Word that whatever we ask in prayer you will answer our prayer by three results, No! Because you have better answer or solution than we ask for, Wait! Because you want us to develop our attitude to be patience with you and others, And Yes! Lord because it aligns in your will. Lord thank you that you give us insight on how our prayer is effective and powerful and that you said that we must do prayer and fasting so that we will see the impossible things or unsearchable answer that we did not yet experience. Lord teaches us to be model in prayer and fasting to our brethren in order to magnify and empower your Church for your glory, In Jesus Name. Amen!

Prayer for Salvation

Lord I admit I am a sinner I repent of all my sins and I receive you into my heart as my personal Lord and Savior Amen. If you mean that prayer above from the bottom of your heart you are now saved. It is God’s Word that He promise in John 3:16 that if you trust His Son Jesus you will not die but you will have Eternal Life. Welcome to the family of God. ARE MY PRAYERS WORKING? (Part-2)

Saturday, 4 January 2014

PRAYER AS A WAY OF LIFE by Sis. Cristy and Bro. Rolly Custodio

ARE MY PRAYERS WORKING? (Part-2)

‘Treat her as you should so your prayers will not be hindered’ 1 Peter 3:7 NLT

Today’s Devotion

Prayer is not just about asking God to change things – it is about being changed and shaped by God in the process. Sometimes we ask God to change others yet often the greater need is to be changed ourselves. Prayer is a very powerful weapon, yet it can be hindered by our motives and our actions. Here are two more things that can get in the way of our prayers:

1) Unresolved conflict. The Bible says, ‘If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone’ (Romans 12:18 NIV). Honouring God’s instructions in life readies us for prayer, so we should address disagreements and seek to make amends. He knows, by the way, if youve been trying honestly and wholeheartedly, and the other person doesn’t budge. He won’t let that block your relationship with Him (but He’ll know if you try to use that as an excuse).

2) Self-centred living. When the Israelites complained that God was not answering their prayers He told them, ‘Stop oppressing those who work for you and treat them fairly… share your food with the hungry … clothe those who are cold and don’t hide from those who need your help. If you do these things the Lord will answer’ (Isaiah 58:69 TLB). Failure to care can also affect your prayers. How are you treating others?

So what now? Stop. Look back over your last few days. Ask God to reveal any ways in which you may not be honouring Him in your motives or your actions.

Parallel Verses: Lev 1-4, Matt 4:12-25, Ps 10:1-11, Pr 1:10-16

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father thank you for your Word today. Lord, I come before you with a humble heart. Lord thank you for reminding the obstacle why you don't answer our prayer because of our unresolved conflict and self centered life style. Lord helps me to be a peace maker and not a trouble maker so that all the conflicts in my life will come to halt. Lord remind me always that to truly love others is to share the salvation to them and our good things from you so that we will not see our self only but we must consider others too. Lord change my perspective not ot be self centered but to think highly for others and to show your love to them so that whatever i ask in prayer Lord you will answer it for your glory. In Jesus Name, Amen!

Prayer for Salvation

Lord I admit I am a sinner I repent of all my sins and I receive you into my heart as my personal Lord and Savior Amen. If you mean that prayer above from the bottom of your heart you are now saved. It is God’s Word promise in John 3:16 that if you trust His Son Jesus you will not die but you will have Eternal Life. Welcome to the family of God. In order to grow in your faith with God please do these consistently starting today; 1. Pray always 2. Read your Bible Daily 3. Attend Church Services Regularly 4. Attend Prayer Meeting, Bible Study, Church Seminars and make God first place in your life with your talents and finances 5. Lastly, witness Jesus to others that they may receive Eternal Life also.
