Prayer as a Way of Life  by Sis. Cristy and Bro. Rolly Custodio

HIS WILL THAT YOU RECEIVE HIS PROMISES (PART-1)
‘When you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised’Hebrews 10:36 NIV

Today’s Devotion

For three years Simon Peter had been dragged through ups and downs, victories and failures, and for what? He’d just denied his Lord Jesus three times. He’d only gone and proved to himself that deep down, he was what he’d always suspected – a little bit shaky. Had Jesus been wrong when He’d given him the nickname ‘the Rock’?

At that moment, Jesus, his friend, was hanging halfway between Heaven and Earth, crying out, ‘My God, my God, why have You forsaken Me?’ Where was the trusted ‘Rock’ now? Hiding out, shaking with fear. This promise of ‘On this rock I will build My church…’ had surely been a mistake. Simon Peter was not up to the job.

Fast forward to the book of Acts, and we see that promise fulfilled. Peter does become the rock that God builds His church upon. You see, the promise had always been true. Even when Peter was hiding under his bed as Jesus died, God still had His eye on him for glorious things. Know what? God’s promises are true for you. And until you watch that proved in your situation, stick close to Him. He knows what’s best for you.

Life Application:

Feeling brave? Ask an older Christian what they think your strengths are. God has great things in mind for you; your strengths are most likely going to be a part of it.

Parallel verses:  Eph 5:21-33, Song 2:1-7, Ps 45, Pro 5:15-19
